Przejście przez atmosferę i dezintegracja kapsuły transportowej Cygnus:po prostu niesamowity obiekt..ciekawe co to..
źródło:The first test flight of the Orbital Sciences Corporation Antares booster carried a dummy payload satellite with the same mass as a Cygnus to orbit testing the rocket systems successfully April 21, 2013 from Wallops Island, Virginia, leading to the spectacular re-entry over Chile and Argentina.
Many in South America witnessed the Cygnus mass simulator satellite dramatically breaking up as it re-enters the Earth’s atmosphere last Thursday evening, May 9, 2013, catching it on a video camera.
Antares put the Cygnus simulator payload into a low orbit to an altitude where the the atmosphere is extremely thin, but it’s there. Over time, drag affected the satellite, lowering its orbit, dropping it into thicker air, slowing and dropping it more.
On Thursday night local time (Friday morning, May 10, 2013 at about 01:00 UTC), the Cygnus dummy payload dropped down to experience re-entry. As it slammed through the atmosphere at several thousand kilometers per hour, the payload simulator compressed the air in front of it, heating it up. The pressure and heat disintegrated the structure, and it fell apart, blazing across the sky ( as seen in the video above).
